Our regular venue on the shores of Ramsey Lake is under construction and will not reopen until 2011 when the City unveils the new amphitheater. Summerfest 2010 learned then that it would have to bring the party to someone else's back yard. The search for a new home began. Organizers scoured the City and area trying to find a new location, somewhere that was central. Then the idea hit us! .
We decided to take our great big family party Downtown to Elgin between Durham and Elm Street intersections.
The character of downtown, an urban mosaic of brick, mortar and pavement, will be dressed up with the sights and sounds of a summer festival with music, jugglers, and steel drums; the tantalizing smells coming from the outdoor barbecue and sweet desserts, and the sounds from the carnival. Downtown will be all dressed up and ready to rock and roll.
The weekend kicks off with a true classic Canadian rock legend David Wilcox with George Oliver and The Bluez Brotherz. Saturday brings rising stars Faber Drive with FeFe Dobson, These Kids Wear Crowns and Frankie Whyte and the Dead Idols to the mainstage. Sunday's mainstage closes the weekend with amazing Canadian double-header 54-40 and Headpins with The Joys. See you at SummerFest!

The contribution by each volunteer is key to the success of the community driven event. We are proud of our volunteers.
